Step-by-step instructions to cook Poha
Prep
Rinse the poha under running water until it becomes soft. Drain the water completely and set it aside.
Cooking
Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.
Add asafoetida, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and black urad dal. Let them splutter.
Add finely chopped onions, green chillies, ginger, and curry leaves. Sauté until onions turn translucent.
Serving
Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot and enjoy your South Indian Poha Upma!
Seasoning
Lower the heat and add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
Add the drained poha to the pan and mix gently until the turmeric powder coats the poha evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add lemon juice and roasted peanuts. Mix well.
